The Maryland Food Supplement Employment and Training Program (FSET) is being administered by the Department of Human Services and provides employment assistance to eligible citizens of the state of Maryland. Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program you have to be at least 16 years of age or older and must recipient of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). You must be able to work after the completion of the training. Each FSET has different eligibility requirements hence it is advisable to check the program’s criteria for your area.

Skill Enhancement and Job Readiness

The Maryland FSET program helps you enhance several skills including hard and soft skills that are currently in demand in the job market. Skills like communication, leadership, customer service, and many more are also taught through the FSET program training. The program takes you through all the steps of job research from finding a job placement, performing research, making a CV, and preparing for the interview. It helps you become ready for a job in all the possible ways. 

Supportive Services Offered

The program also provides information about the different certificates and credentials that are required for a job and what kind of work experience you will need to apply for a job. You are given transportation services and referrals for volunteering work through the FSET program. A coach or career navigator is also assigned to you to personalize your job search experience. You are also given access to books and tools required for a job search including a computer as well as formal clothes to wear for an interview. You are taught how to tackle questions like your past work experiences, criminal background, and much more.
