The Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) is administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The purpose of the program is to make families realize the importance of a healthy and safe environment to help the child grow in the best possible way. The program helps parents through the child development stage.

The Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) understands the importance of parents in a child’s life. The program aims to build self-sufficient and happy families.

The HANDS program provides support to the parent from the time of pregnancy until the child is two years of age. During this time, the Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services program guides you and provides constant support throughout the child’s development stage.

The families who apply for the Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) will have a one-on-one meeting with the HANDS program coordinators. The job of the parent visitor is to answer the parents’ queries about pregnancy and a child’s growth.

They will be given information about the various resources that are available to new parents in the community which can take help from. In some cases, the HANDS program provides help through home visitation as well to the deserving families.

A referral is made by a doctor, friend, health department, or anyone close to the parents. The program starts its screening process. A program visitor then visits the parents’ home and helps them learn parental skills regarding the child’s growth and safety

The Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services is eligible for families who fulfill the eligibility requirements.

Parents who are residing in the state of Kentucky are eligible to apply for the program. The parents who enrolled either during the time of pregnancy or before their kid are 90 days old are eligible to apply for the Kentucky Health Access Nurturing Development Services program
