The Emergency Assistance to Families with Children (EAFC) provides monetary aid to low-income households in the state of Maryland. The program comes under the Department of Human Services which is established by the federal government. The EAFC program is available for a household that have children under the age of 21 one and who depend on their families and are living with them.

The main objective of the Emergency Assistance to Families with Children (EAFC) is to help families people to be financially stable while providing them with cash assistance at the time of emergency. The program analyzes the situation of the eligible citizens and comes up with different remedies to help ease their pain and get them out of challenging experiences they are suffering in their lives.

The program develops a comprehensive care plan for eligible applicants who is also consumer-centric and focuses on the needs and wants of the patient. The program provides eligible adults with various support and home care services. The program helps older people who are unable to take care of themselves to attain self-sufficiency by providing an extensive range of services.

The program provides monetary assistance to families and helps them pay for their rent, food, and other important daily use utilities. The assistance is provided to families who recently lost their sour e of income because of unemployment.

Their families have to provide proof of emergency and also give reasons that it wasn’t caused by their side. The household also has to provide a notice or any other document from the utility service provider telling them that their services have either been cut off or will be cut off soon.

It should be kept in mind that the program funds are only available every two years across the local DHS offices in Maryland. The amounts of candidates selected depend upon the availability of funds.

There is certain documentation that you will have to submit along with the application form to apply for the Maryland Emergency Assistance to Families with Children. This is required to provide identification along with their address which includes their house number, street number. A total household income should also be provided by the applicant e.g. bank details, assessments, and mortgage statements. The program also asks for the social security number of each member of the household.

The eligible participants are provided with an Electronic Benefits Card (EBT) used to issue food benefits to the deserving families. This makes the process of getting food through a check way easier. Due to the outburst of Coronavirus, the program needs to modify the distribution process to keep the safety of the individuals as well as the staff.
