Maryland Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program

The Maryland Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program provide healthcare assistance to the disabled Marylander who are currently employed. The program services are given to people who fulfill certain disabilities and other requirements. The Maryland Department of Health administers the Maryland EID program in the state of Maryland.

Individuals who have any form of mental, physical, or emotional disability as per the program’s criteria are eligible to receive the EID Program’s benefits. The main aim of the program is to provide more opportunities for disabled people by removing healthcare barriers. This allows disabled working citizens of the state of Maryland with several choices including working full time, part-time work from home, or shift jobs to find a higher paying job. The Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program ensures that disabled people in the community are provided with health coverage so that they can live a better and stable life.

The EID program covers the cost of most of the healthcare services including eye care services which include providing eye check-ups and eyeglasses. They also receive dental services include dental check-up and dental hygiene which include teeth cleaning. Other services like family planning services, regular medical check-ups, auditory services, laboratory services, X-rays, maternity services, child-care and home health care services that are occupational and physical therapy, speech therapy and skilled nursing, drug prescriptions, nursing home services, orgasm plant service and many more. The program provides up to 12000 worth of healthcare services per year to individuals. The program also sometimes provides supplementary care to the eligible applicants.

The applicants who are 18 to 65 years of age with a disability. The applicant should have a Social Security criterion. The eligibility applicant should also be working. The applicant should also meet a certain income and resource limit. For an individual, it is 10,000 and for 15,000 for couples.

An individual’s resource includes their bank statements, any assets, bonds and stocks, property, and retirement money. A person’s home, a car is not included in resources.

You can also go for premium payment for the EID program. The premium payment goes from $0 to $55 per month.

If you do not follow the program’s deadlines and do not submit the application form on time you will have to pay a higher payment. The program charges a one- or two-month advance payment for the medical services along with the monthly payment that you are required to pay. The payment starts the day you use the medical assistant from the program and in case you did not know that your application has been selected you do not have to pay the premium. It is important to be consistent in paying the monthly premium payment for the program to continue providing the services.

The applicants can also make a secure payment via debit and credit card. You can go to the MDH Payment site to perform the payment procedure. You will have two options to choose from. You can go for either a One Time Payment where you will fill out your transaction and personal detail and perform the payment or you can go for Scheduled Payment where you will be required to make an account and then proceed with the payment details and after that, you can submit the payment.

If you are interested in paying for the services via check you will have to fill the monthly invoice with the amount you are paying and other information like a phone number. You will be provided with an envelope where you can place your cash or check and then mail the payment to the program’s office.

It is important to send the recent invoice along with the payment to make sure that your payment is processed promptly.

It is advisable to keep an extra copy of your invoice with you so that you can prove that you have made the payment in case the program office does not receive your payment.
