Program Overview
The Senior Community Service Program (SCSEP) is an Arkansas state-based program. It is a low budget and a part-time program. The basic purpose of this program is to serve low-income people over age and 55. In addition to this, this program also serves people with poor employment prospects. The participants of this program are given an assessment at agencies, both government, and community. The participants receive the federal or state minimum wage, whichever is higher, upon the completion of the assignments. Moreover, the beneficiaries of this program may also receive help in developing their job search skills. Not only this, but they may also help with the search for a permanent job. The agencies used for this purpose are generally nonprofit or public service type. The program trains them whilst on the job and gives them work experience. A local employment and training coordinator works with the participants to achieve a part-time or full-time unsubsidized job. This is expected at the host agency or any other employment sources in the locality. Some of the benefits that the participants get to receive include the following:

- An opportunity to develop some concrete working history
Eligibility Requirements
The SCSEP has a set of requirements that need to be fulfilled by interested individuals. These requirements help the management to ensure that the program is used for the best. It highlights the appropriate individuals and gets them the help they need. Therefore, the eligibility criteria for SCSEP includes
As the program is specially designed for the old aged group, the age of the applicant must be 55 or older. Anyone aged younger than 55 will not be entertained by this program.
The applicant must be a resident of the state of Arkansas and/or any of its counties. No person from any other state would be considered eligible.
The applicant must not be employed at the time of application for the program. As this program aims at providing a low-end temporary job and a source of self-development for all those who cannot find a job, having a job stands ineligible.
The household income of the applicant must be at or below 125% of the ongoing Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines. The program is for the people’s poor employment prospects and aims at leading them towards a better life.
